What We Do
Our Work
Communication & Content Rebranding
We worked with a group of churches who were self-admittedly inward focused in communication and messaging to tell their story in a way that engaged outsiders and equipped members to also be more outward facing. Built their platform from the ground up — website, video, podcasts, and weekly content — all oriented toward the people they were trying to reach.
"We are excited about working with 21 grams media. This was our first venture creating this kind of content for our churches — professional videos, podcasts, and articles to equip and encourage our churches. Brad really understands how to think about creating an authentic story about who you are in a way that connects with your target audience. We look forward to continuing our work with 21 grams."
— John Shaw, Chairman Church Planting
Content & Communication Strategy
Working with an $80M wholesale tire distributor who is good at traditional marketing, sales, and communication, we developed a complementary strategy taking advantage of contemporary business changes and tools. "Social Business" means taking advantage of current technology as well as changes and trends in communication and social interaction in a digital age to better communicate with customers and prospects.
We developed an email newsletter from a stagnant list that grew to 3,000 subscribers — frequently getting 30–100 engagements per send when they previously had none. We created a resource website that took their expertise and made it accessible to clients' employees and was highly acclaimed. We trained the sales staff in a more "Social Business" approach that yielded more favorable results.
"Hiring 21 grams was influential in how we think about serving our customers better. He has a great sense of how narrative and story work in communicating your own message to your audience. Brad helped our management team think through how our story and role as a company fits into our industry and our customers' journey. And it wasn't just a mental exercise, it has significantly changed how we reach our existing customers and reach out to prospective customers."
— Jeff Hood, COO, K&W Tire
About 21 Grams
In one sentence, 21 grams media is about story and soul.
Our name reveals much about us. People have lots of guesses about what 21 grams means — some quite funny. Here's the actual version: In the early 1900s a scientist did an experiment to find out what the human soul weighs. A bit morbid, he took 7 human bodies and weighed them right before death, and then weighed them again right after death. He found the dead bodies weighed an average of ¾ of an ounce less. But "¾ of an ounce" doesn't flow off the tongue or sound memorable. However, its equivalent, 21 grams, sounds intriguing. In popular culture, the idea of 21 grams as the weight of the human soul has taken on a bit of a cult following. So, our name 21 grams media reflects our interest and identity with both story and soul.
